The institution of marriage has been accused of weakness and instability. The truth is that foundation of the institution is solid but we have failed to study well and discover the rules and guide before we enter it. Marriage is sweet, marriage is a beautiful thing to experience. Sadly, the world has several feedbacks from bad marriages and only few from great marriages. We are almost led to believe that marriage in it’s entirety is bad! This is not so, if it were so, God would not have ordained us to leave and cleave! We must however know that there is more to marriage than “Love”, it is also imperative to know that the word and term Love has been abused so much that the meaning now seems unknown to us. Take this with you as you think of marriage: Love is never enough to marry any man, there are other pillars that will be needed to sustain a marriage among which maturity is Key. There is a reason underage marriage is frowned upon, there is a reason we are required to reach a certain age before thinking of marriage! Our physical, mental and emotional development are required in the voyage of matrimony. Know this also that age might be a determining factor of growth, it is however not the sole determining factor of maturity. A man who has refused to develop mentally and emotionally might not be able to hold a relationship talk more of the sacred institution of marriage.
